Getting to Ivyleaf Camping from the North
If you’re travelling from northern locations such as Barnstaple, Bideford, or along the North Devon coastline, Ivyleaf Camping is straightforward to reach via the A39 Atlantic Highway.
By Car
Head south on the A39 in the direction of Bude and Stratton.
Continue past Hartland, pass GCHQ Bude, and drive through Kilkhampton.
Stay on the A39 as you pass the Little Pig Farm Shop.
Shortly after the local tip, the road curves to the right — continue along the main road.
As you round the bend, you’ll notice a greener stretch of land with a small valley on your right-hand side.
When the road straightens and the valley levels out, keep an eye out for Ivyleaf Camping signage on the left.
Turn left and drive uphill, following the road around the left-hand bend past Heidelberg Materials.
Continue until a house comes into view ahead — the entrance to Ivyleaf Camping will be on your left.
Turn left, then right, to enter the Ivyleaf Camping car park.
Getting to Ivyleaf Camping from the South
Visitors approaching from the south — including Wadebridge, Newquay, or Bodmin — can also reach Ivyleaf Camping via the A39 Atlantic Highway.
By Car
Travel north on the A39 towards Bude.
Remain on the A39 as you approach the outskirts of the town.
Follow signs for Bideford to avoid entering Bude town centre.
You’ll pass an industrial estate, with open fields on your right.
Continue beyond a new housing development, again with fields to your right.
Arrive at the Stratton roundabout, where Penbode Vets can be seen on the right-hand side.
Drive straight across the roundabout, staying on the A39 towards Bideford and Holsworthy.
Shortly afterwards, you’ll enter a 30mph zone through Bush.
As the speed limit increases to 40mph, watch for the turning to Ivyleaf Camping on the right.
Turn uphill and follow the road around the left-hand bend past Heidelberg Materials.
Continue until a house appears ahead — the entrance to Ivyleaf Camping will be on your left.
Turn left, then right, to access the Ivyleaf Camping car park.
Arriving by Bus
The nearest bus stop is Bush House (cordptgd), located on the A39 at the bottom of Ivyleaf Hill.
Please note:
There is an approximate 370-metre walk along the A39 to reach Ivyleaf Hill.
From there, it is a further 900 metres uphill to reach Ivyleaf Camping.
Arriving by Taxi
A number of reliable local taxi companies operate in the area.
Simply ask your driver to take you to the campsite at the Ivyleaf Golf Club, and they will be familiar with the location.
